Hydraulic Line Testing

One source of acoustic problems in hydraulic systems, the so-called fluid-borne noise, is caused by pressure ripples which are initiated by the pump. Self-propagating throughout the hydraulic pipes, fluid-borne noise leads to audible noise on other places. As a consequence hereof demands on the acoustic characteristics of hydraulic hose and pipe units are continuously increasing.

FLUIDON developed a test rig for investigating and quantifying the oscillation characteristic of branched hydraulic lines in order to gain a precise calculation/prediction of vibration and resonance characteristics.

Pneumatic Flow Testing

The flow characteristics of pneumatic components can be regarded as a combination of various single restrictors. Especially for the dynamic simulation of pneumatic systems a detailed knowledge of the flow characteristic of the components is necessary in order to simulate the real behaviour.

FLUIDON has the ability to support customers in the parameterization of pneumatic simulation models by offering pneumatic flow measurements in order to identify C and b values of all sorts of pneumatic resistances according to ISO 6358.

Automotive Pump Testing

The pump test rig at IFAS is especially designed to measure efficiency factor, wear and flow ripples of fast rotating pumps, such as can be found in automotive applications.

For manufactures the measured efficiency factors are powerful terms to benchmark their components against the background of improvement of energy transmission, and reduction of wear. FLUIDON is happy to have access to the test rig, because the measured values are valuable information for the parameterization of DSHplus high quality simulation models.

Power Steering Testing

A high quality simulation of power steering systems is a complex, challenging task that requires more than a mere knowledge of geometric component parameters. The availability of system measurements is inevitably to identify system parameters such as friction or hydraulic hysteresis and to perform a proper validation of the DSHplus simulation model.

At the Institute for Vehicle Systems at the University for Applied Sciences Cologne a power steering system test rig has been set-up especially for this reason. FLUIDON is happy to have access to this test rig to perform static and dynamic steering system measurements.
